Representatives from partner universities visit Wuhan Polytechnic

    From April 20th to 26th, representatives of Chienkuo Technology University (CTU), Overseas Chinese University (OCU) and Tungnan University (TU) in Taiwan, and West Los Angeles College (WLAC) in the United States visited Wuhan Polytechnic (WHPT) successively. Chairwoman of WHPT Council Deng Changqing, vice president Hu Xuezhi and Li Wangyun welcomed the guests cordially, and directors of relevant schools and departments hosted meetings with guests. Introductions to each other’s development were done during the meeting, and extensive and in-depth discussions were also conducted upon establishing a long-term sustainable relationship and communicating the specific cooperation at the present stage.

    On April 20th, on behalf WHPT, Director of International Relations Zhang Yichan and Director of Human Resources Zhou Jiujun discussed with Lin Guoxing the details of CTU receiving faculties and administrative staff of WHPT to do work placement in relevant administrative positions in CTU. Affairs related to WHPT students participating in exchange studies and Bachelor degree top-up studies were also discussed. A presentation about the above-mentioned further study opportunities was done to WHPT students at C21 Lecture Hall in the evening by Ms. Wu Cuihua, deputy director of International Office of CTU.

    On April 22nd, Deng Changqing, Hu Xuezhi and Li Wangyun met with a delegation of 4 people from OCU led by its Chairman of the Board Chen Botao and his wife Zhang Yuan. Both parties reviewed the cooperative achievements over the past years, and summed up the experience gained by the first group of faculties and administrative staff of WHPT through doing work placement in relevant administrative positions in OCU last year. They also negotiated the details of work placement for the first batch of WHPT faculties and staff in 2016 in the coming May. In addition, they exchanged views on such specific affairs as the preparations for the 11th Cross-Strait Academic Conference, the implementation of the program of sending students to do exchange studies and Bachelor degree top-up studies in OCU, and WHPT’s recruitment of Taiwanese professional teachers. A presentation about the above-mentioned further study opportunities was done to WHPT students at lecture hall of the school library by Mr. Fu Xiuren, director of International Office of OCU.

    On April 25th, Hu Xuezhi and Zhang Yichan met with a delegation of 2 people led by the vice president of Tungnan University. Hu Xuezhi warmly welcomed the guests and briefly introduced information of WHPT in terms of historical evolution, schools and disciplines, teacher development and internationalization. Both parties discussed in details the possibility of TU receiving faculties and administrative staff of WHPT to do work placement in relevant administrative positions in TU, and of WHPT sending students to participating in exchange studies and Bachelor degree top-up studies in TU. The possibility of TU helping WHPT recruit Taiwanese professional teachers was also discussed during the meeting.

Dean of School of Culture and Communication, Wu Yueping meets with Helen Lin, president assistant of West Los Angeles College

    On April 26th, president assistant of West Los Angeles College (WLAC), Helen Lin, paid a visit to our college. It was a returning visit after the visit of our delegates to WLAC when they participated in Vocational Education Leadership Training program organized by Ministry of Education and CEAIE. The Dean of School of Architectural Engineering Wu Jing and the Dean of School of Culture and Communication Wu Yueping met with Helen respectively and introduced the disciplines and mode of talent cultivation of the two schools. They also discussed the possibility to start relevant cooperative programs. During this visit, Helen also visited the studio center of School of Culture and Communication accompanied by staff of Department of International Relations.
